In this centennial year of BMW Motorrad, the ethos of the powerful “M” letter is alive and kicking on the M 1000 XR. “M” has become synonymous with racing excellence and the allure of high-performance BMW Motorcycle models designed for those who crave top-notch performance, exclusivity, and individuality.
The M 1000 XR has a robust four-cylinder engine. This beast churns out a staggering 201 horsepower, making it one of the most potent motorcycles in its class. With a svelte DIN empty weight, this motorcycle perfectly balances suspension technology and aerodynamics.
It is built for high-speed joyrides on country roads, extended road trips, and quick laps around the race track. The M 1000 XR is a lightweight champ, offering dynamic performance previously reserved for expensive motorcycles.
The engine is where the magic happens. This modified water-cooled in-line four-cylinder engine cranks out an astonishing peak of 201 horsepower at 12,750 rpm. Shorter secondary gear ratios, achieved with a sprocket featuring 47 teeth, give you more traction in every gear, resulting in exhilarating acceleration and power.
Aerodynamics played a pivotal role in the development of the M 1000 XR. This motorcycle features winglets on the front side panels to help you brake later, prevent wheelies, and accelerate sooner.
The chassis and suspension of the M 1000 XR boast an aluminum bridge frame as the core. The front suspension features 45 mm upside-down forks with closed cartridge inserts and separate hydraulic piston-cylinder systems. In addition, the M 1000 XR introduces a new feature – the adjustability of the fork’s spring base when combined with the standard Dynamic Damping Control (DDC) suspension strut.
