The racy and adventurous 2023 BMW S 1000 XR is outfitted with a beefy 999 cc, four-stroke, water/oil-cooled, in-line four-cylinder engine. This incredible engine combines two overhead camshafts, electronic intake pipe fuel injection, and four valves per cylinder with a six-speed synchromesh transmission with spur gears and oil bath, self-reinforcing, slipper clutch, and multi-plate clutch to churn out up to 165 horsepower and 84 lb.-ft of torque. This incredible burst of power propels the S 1000 XR to speeds of over 120 miles per hour.
