The design of the 2020 BMW R nineT reaches back to the past to bring clean and simple lines into the present day. The large round headlamp stands proudly up front and the brushed metal accents on the fuel tank provide an alluring contrast. The valve covers of the engine poke out the sides and the exhaust pipes sweep back into a dual element silencer at the rear. The R nineT is offered in four stunning paint schemes: keep it simple with the classy Black Storm Metallic or add a hand brushed number 21 to the tank, go sophisticated with the dark green and silver, or grab attention with the red and blue combo. The R nineT is built with relaxed ergonomics that let you ride comfortably, or lean in when carving up the corners. You’ll find the bike also accommodates a variety of sizes thanks to the standard 31.7-inch high seat.
The 2020 R nineT delivers a mix of modern and classic in the powertrain as well. The two-cylinder boxer engine is air cooled, displaces 1,170 cubic centimeters, and produces a healthy 110 horsepower at 7,750 rpm and 86 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm. After running through the six-speed gearbox, the power is sent to the rear wheel through BMW’s shaft drive system that helps deliver immediate response. Seventeen-inch wire-spoke wheels add to the style and the dual floating four-piston brake calipers up front bite down on 320 mm discs.
